Docs rebuilt: one page per component

Generated documentation is now one page per component or directory, written for engineers with real file citations, plus a versions timeline and a plain-language companion.

The documentation pipeline was rebuilt around how teams actually read docs:

    • One page per component: large folders are no longer split into "Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3" pages you have to piece together. Each module is one page you can finish.
    • Technical depth: pages explain what the code does, function by function, and cite the real file paths behind every claim.
    • Docs list matches the code: when modules merge or disappear, pages that no longer belong to the plan are deleted instead of lingering forever.
    • Versions timeline: each project has a versions page that merges sync events and regeneration batches, so you can see which pages changed, when, and from which commit.
    • Explain simply: any page can generate a plain-language companion version, encrypted with the same per-project key as the page itself.
    • Search: find a module by name from the docs list instead of scrolling.

    Ask once, across every project

The dashboard is a workspace chat with project and group scope, related repositories can be read as one combined doc set, and streamed answers survive dropped connections.

Chat moved from single-project to whole-workspace:

    • Workspace chat: ask one question and get an answer drawn from every project you can access, with citations prefixed by project name and file path.
    • Groups: put related repositories (a service plus its shared library) in one group, then read their documentation combined on a single page and narrow chat to that group.
    • Scope is explicit: chat states what it reads ("Reading only this project" or "Reading only · 4 projects"), and you switch between This project and Whole group in one click.
    • Answers survive a bad connection: if the stream drops, ShipDocs resumes or retries instead of losing the reply, and interrupted answers are saved with a note.
    • Per-page visibility: any page can be kept private while the rest of the portal stays public.

ShipDocs inside ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and Claude

A ChatGPT and Codex connector with OAuth joins the project MCP endpoint, so coding agents read your generated documentation with citations.

Agent access is now first class:

    • ChatGPT and Codex connector: approve ShipDocs once on an OAuth consent screen and ChatGPT can query your documentation over MCP.
    • Project MCP: every Advanced and Ultra project exposes an endpoint that serves its generated docs to Cursor and Claude, citations included.
    • Scoped tokens: connectors and CLIs get their own credentials, revocable without touching your account or password.

    Referrals and Share and Earn

Invite a friend for 30 free days each, or post about ShipDocs on X and earn free days from views. Earned days are applied to your subscription automatically.

Two programs for earning free subscription time:

    • Referrals: share your link from the referral page. When a friend starts their trial you get 30 free days, and they get their first 33 days free (3-day trial plus a full month).
    • Share and Earn: post about ShipDocs on X and earn free days from views. 100+ views earns 3 days, 500+ earns 7, 1,000+ earns 14, and 5,000+ earns 28. Your best post of the week counts.
    • Applied for you: granted days extend a trial, discount the next invoice, or extend your access. Days you have banked survive a failed payment.
    • Every grant is visible: the ledger of what was earned, capped and applied lives in your dashboard.

Faster syncs and fewer dead ends

Regenerations reuse unchanged work, syncs run in parallel, and pushes that fail part way through retry instead of dropping.

Documentation generation now does far less repeat work:

    • Incremental embeddings: only files whose content changed are re-embedded, so a large repository stops paying for the whole codebase on every push.
    • Plan reuse: the module plan is reused while the file tree is unchanged, and overview pages only regenerate when the files they summarize change.
    • Batched scoring: documentation quality scoring is written in batches, which cut that step's database time by more than an order of magnitude.
    • Retries: pushes that time out or fail mid-index are queued and retried instead of being dropped, and projects stuck mid-index resume on their own.
    • Bitbucket: connection and webhook registration fixed.

Plans: Lifetime, yearly free months, trials on Advanced

A one-time Lifetime license joins Pro, Advanced and Ultra. Yearly billing now gives 4 months free, and trials start on Advanced with your own repository previewed before checkout.

    Billing and trial changes:

    • Lifetime license: $999 once, 15 seats, lifetime access to generated docs, cited chat and MCP. No subscription.
    • Yearly billing: pay for 8 months and get 12, so 4 months free on every plan.
    • Trials on Advanced: new trials start on the Advanced plan, with repository documentation generated for one of your own repos before you check out instead of after.
    • Choose a plan: the plan chooser shows monthly and yearly side by side with what each plan includes.

    A faster, cleaner app

New onboarding, a project switcher, per-project navigation, and lighter pages throughout the app.

Interface work you feel rather than read about:

    • Onboarding: import a repository and watch the first documentation pages get written, with any invite offer shown up front instead of at checkout.
    • Project switcher: one searchable list of every project you can access, replacing the legacy tab bar.
    • Per-project navigation: docs, tools, versions and settings live under the project they belong to.
    • Lighter pages: fewer repeated requests and smaller payloads, so surfaces paint faster and switching projects stays instant.
    • Details: one icon set throughout, larger sidebar items, consistent card corners, and a neutral surface palette that does not fight the documentation.

    • Bitbucket — connect, list repos (with optional workspace slugs), import private/public repos, and register push webhooks for auto-sync
    • Compare — new /compare page vs Mintlify and $19 auto-docs positioning
    • Pricing copy — encryption, trusted auto-sync, insights, and MCP called out; free forever / unshipped SSO claims removed from product facts

    • Branded URL at /p/$slug with Atlas, Signal, or Quill themes
    • Custom font, accent color, and logo upload
    • Optional password gate for private share links
    • Zero-knowledge projects stay private (server can’t decrypt to publish)

Settings live in the project dashboard under Public docs.
