ShipDocs pricing: three plans, one free trial

Every plan documents private repositories: overview plus one page per component, cited AI chat over your own codebase, auto-sync when code changes, and Markdown you can export. Plans differ on repository count, chat volume, seats and how often a repo can be regenerated.

What does the free trial include?

A 3-day Advanced trial: every Advanced feature on your own repository, including cited chat, repo insights, the public portal and the MCP endpoint for Cursor and Claude. Start it without a card from the free trial page, or run a free tool on a public repository first and see the analysis quality before you connect private code.

Questions about billing and plans

How much does ShipDocs cost?

Pro is $29 per month, Advanced is $29 per month (list price $99, currently discounted), and Ultra is $199 per month. Paying yearly gives you 4 months free: you pay for 8 months and get 12. A one-time Lifetime license is $999.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new workspace starts with a 3-day Advanced trial: the full Advanced plan, not a cut-down demo. You can start it without a card, see your own repository documented, and only pay if the output is worth keeping.

Can I cancel or change plans?

Yes. Monthly and yearly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from billing settings and stay active until the end of the period you already paid for. Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately, with the difference prorated by the payment provider.

What happens to my documentation if I cancel?

Your documentation is Markdown and stays yours. Export every generated page at any time, before or after cancelling. Source files and generated docs are encrypted at rest while stored, and deleted with the account.

How many people can use one subscription?

Pro includes 3 seats, Advanced includes 10 seats, Ultra is unlimited, and the Lifetime license includes 15 seats. Seats cover teammates who read docs, chat with the codebase, or use the MCP endpoint from an editor.

Do I pay for the free tools?

No. The free tools (repo audit, README generator, complexity score, docs gap map, agent-readiness score and the rest) run without an account and without a card. They are how you test the analysis before connecting a private repository.

Prices in USD. Yearly billing charges 8 months and unlocks all 12. Payments are handled by Polar, and you can cancel from the billing page at any time. Need a purchase order or an invoice for a larger team? Contact support.
