Terms of Service

Effective date: October 11, 2026

These terms govern your use of ShipDocs — the website at shipdocs.sh, the ShipDocs CLI, the extension, and API/MCP integrations (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you may bind that organization.

1. Accounts

You are responsible for your account, credentials, and API tokens (CLI, MCP, and OAuth connections). Tokens act on your behalf — revoke any token you believe is exposed. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

2. Subscriptions, trials, and refunds

Paid plans are billed through Polar; one-time Lifetime licenses may also be sold through partner marketplaces (e.g. AppSumo). Trials convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends. Monthly plans renew monthly; annual plans renew annually at the discounted yearly rate. Cancel any time from Settings — access continues until the end of the paid period.

Direct purchases may be refunded within 14 days where usage is within fair trial bounds. Marketplace purchases are governed by the marketplace's refund policy; a refunded Lifetime license revokes the associated plan.

3. Your code and your content

You keep all rights to source code, files, documentation, and prompts you import or create (“Your Content”). We claim no ownership. We process Your Content only to provide the Service — generating and storing documentation, retrieval, chat, and integrations you enable. You must have the rights to import any repository you connect, and you must not use the Service to violate license terms or law.

4. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break the Service, exceed documented limits through automation, resell access without agreement, reverse engineer other customers' data, or use the Service to build malware. We may suspend accounts that abuse capacity, attack other systems, or create legal risk.

5. AI output

Documentation, answers, and insights are generated by AI models and may contain mistakes. Review output before relying on it — it is not professional advice. We continuously measure quality but provide AI output “as is.”

6. Data, privacy, and deletion

Our Privacy Policy explains what is stored, how it is encrypted, and how deletion works. Deleted projects are purged after the documented retention window.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify or discontinue features; material reductions to a paid plan give you a pro-rated refund of unused time. We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new effective date.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShipDocs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the twelve months before the claim (or USD 50 for free users).

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical. Sections that by nature should survive termination (content ownership, liability limits) survive.
