Architecture Diagram

Generate an architecture diagram from any public repo

Paste a public repo URL. We analyze up to 35 key source files and render the same layered architecture diagram as paid projects — modules, backend hub, and data stores.

Need the full repo mapped — private repos, doc modules, and chat? Start 3-day trial on ShipDocs.

The Architecture Diagrammer turns a repository into a Mermaid system diagram: services, entry points, data stores, and how they call each other.

What does Architecture Diagram check?

  • Entry points and the framework each one boots
  • Service, worker, and job boundaries
  • Database, cache, queue, and external API usage
  • Import edges that reveal the dependency direction between modules

How does Architecture Diagram work?

  1. 1.Paste a public repository URL or open the Architecture tab of a ShipDocs project.
  2. 2.ShipDocs extracts the structure from files and configuration.
  3. 3.The diagram renders as Mermaid source you can edit, copy, or export as PNG.

What do you get from Architecture Diagram?

  • • An editable Mermaid diagram of the system
  • • A copyable source block for your README or design docs
  • • A PNG export for slides and onboarding material
“Every AI tool invented APIs we don't have. ShipDocs cited src/routes/billing.ts on the first question. That alone paid for Advanced.”

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the diagram?

Yes. The Mermaid source is shown next to the render, so you can adjust it and paste it anywhere Mermaid is supported.

Is a database or queue detected automatically?

Common ones are: Postgres, MySQL, SQLite, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, and any database URL found in configuration.

Does the diagram stay current?

Inside a ShipDocs project the diagram is regenerated when the code changes, so it does not drift like a hand-drawn one.
